Why You Should Hire Me
It has long been my goal for every teacher to have a useful and informative site; one that improves teacher/parent communication, reduces questions and confusion, and gives parents the tools they need for their children. As a parent, I want all this information to be in one place so I don't have to go hunting for it. I design these sites with parents like myself in mind. I know what information I want and what questions I have. I hear the questions other parents have and I want these sites to help provide the answers and resources.
Okay, so perhaps I've sold you on the idea of a site, but why should you hire me to do it instead of doing it yourself? There are a number of reasons:
- I have both professional experience and training in developing user-friendly web sites--I know the difference between good and bad design. I know how to make sure the site is easily navigable and intuitive. I have taken masters-level classes in graphic design for the web and site structure dos and don'ts (My specialization for my M.B.A. was eCommerce.)
- I have a lot of experience creating and modifying sites with Weebly--I've been working with Weebly on a constant basis for the past three years. I know the ins and outs of how to work with Weebly quickly and efficiently. I know how to work with the various Weebly elements to get the site structure you want. While Weebly is a great user-friendly site, it also has some quirks. I know how to force various quirks to function properly, and I know which frustrating quirks you shouldn't even bother fighting with. Better yet, I know the quickest ways to work around the frustrating ones. Your site will be up in a matter of days instead of weeks or months as you find time to work on it, and you won't have given up any of your weekends to do it.
- I'm a perfectionist--I spend a lot of time making sure the structure, content, and elements are error-free. Nothing drives me more nuts than finding constant typos and errors on web sites. As a result, I comb through things I've written to eliminate little errors that detract from the site content and message. You don't get charged extra for my perfectionist tendencies, you just benefit from them.
- My prices are extremely reasonable--In keeping with my goal of providing teachers with great web sites I've had to keep teachers' budgets in mind while developing my pricing. Despite my corporate and professional experience, I'm doing this because I really enjoy it.
- This is my idea of fun--Sitting down to create and update web sites is my idea of a great time. Is it yours? If not, I encourage you to put your valuable time to better use and hire me.
